24h in Montreal

Each time we visit Montreal, we try to go to new places as well as visit steadfast favourites. This surprise trip — an early birthday present — was no different.

There are so many amazing things to see, do, and eat in the city and, with only 24 hours, we kept busy. Check out some of our highlights below, including:

Café Pavé – great spot for fresh sandwiches, wraps, soup and salads to-go or to eat-in.

Taverne Gaspar – we first checked out this bar/bistro in the summertime, when the patio doors were open to the July evening and patrons could look out at a view of the Old Port, enjoy the fireworks display from La Ronde and watch the calèches trot by. Great ambiance with old stone walls and delicious elevated pub fare.

Le Cartet – this is a can’t-miss brunch spot nestled in Old Montreal. Almond milk lattes and rich mochas made with Illy coffee, Kusmi teas, fresh multigrain bread, potatoes fried in duck fat, fresh fruit and egg dishes for every breakfast lover.
