Similar to Cookie Swaps popular around the holidays, my sugar-free version had guests make and bring something refined sugar-free to share and take home so people could get new recipe inspiration for healthy snacks.
Treats could be sweet or savoury, as long as they were naturally sweetened. We ended up with a delicious array of goodies, flavours and ingredients, including energy bites, granola bars, muffins, brownies, cookies, cake and more!
Here’s what I made:
Banana-oat muffins with peanut butter topping
- Adapted this recipe for Honey & Almond Drizzle Banana Breads by Charley’s Health. I made them into muffins and used peanut butter instead of almond.
Chai-spiced banana bread
- This bread from I Quit Sugar is always a hit! I topped it with almonds instead of pecans and buckwheat groats.
- Thanks to The Healthy Maven for this great recipe! I used 1/4 cup maple syrup instead of 1/2 to lessen the sweetness a bit.
Thanks to all for coming! Take a look at some photos from the event:
