Healthy milkshake. That’s all that comes to mind when I drink this smoothie.
I called it a “dessert” smoothie because it’s the perfect way to satisfy a sweet craving after a light dinner or as an afternoon snack. I promise you will ask yourself “how is this healthy!?” It’s that good. Tastes like a frosty or milkshake, and yet it’s naturally sweetened, boasts healthy fats from coconut milk and protein from peanut butter.
Add protein powder and you’ve got yourself a tasty post-workout recovery drink.
I can’t get enough of coconut milk in my smoothies – it makes the creamiest addition to any concoction. Try it out and let me know what you think! Do you have a favourite of my smoothie recipes?
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp smooth natural peanut butter
- ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
- ½ cup coconut milk
- ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
- 4 dates
- 1 ½ cups ice
- Sprinkle of cinnamon
- Optional: scoop of protein powder
Directions
Blend and enjoy. This is a great smoothie to make and drink after a workout if you add in the protein powder, although I can’t save it for any length of time – it’s too delicious!
That is one awesome smoothie! Great work (:
